Medically Caused Disease -
"Iatrogenic"

Iatorgenic means adverse effects or complications caused by or resulting from medical  treatment or advice.

iatrogenic /iat·ro·gen·ic/ (i-ă´tro-jen´ik) literally, brought forth by a healer, resulting from the activity of physicians; said of any adverse condition in a patient resulting from treatment by a physician or surgeon.

Examples of this is:

  • a disorder induced by the treatment itself such as neuropathy (or nerve damage) caused by chemotherapy and/or radiation, and other conditions such as nausea, anemia, etc,

  • drug interactions - the doctor and pharmacist fails to check for all medications a patient is taking and prescribe new ones that interact or decrease the intended therapeutic effect

  • antibiotic resistance to bacteria caused by over prescribing antibiotics.
