Heart Health

Just tell me what to take for Heart Health

The cardiovascular system is a network of arteries, veins and capillaries that carry blood back and forth from the heart to the tissues of the body.

Blood carries oxygen, hydrogen and glucose (simple sugars) to cells where they are used as the basic fuel of the body.  It carries other nutrients, including amino acids and vitamins, enzymes, hormones, and immune system factors and agents.

For the cardiovascular system to function, the heart muscle must be strong and the blood vessels must be clear, unobstructed, and sufficiently dilated and pliable to adequately transport the blood.  It is especially critical that the vessels carrying blood to heart tissues are healthy, otherwise the critical organ cannot serve the rest of the body.  Restrictions of these vessels can occur gradually over the yeas or in a sudden cataclysmic occurrence.

HEART HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS:

How many people die a year from heart disease?

There are reports of between 250,000 to 400000.   It is wise to do something to prevent it, but also in case........

"Alternative medicine" that is used for a heart attack:

1. Mix 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 crushed clove garlic, and 1-2 Tablespoons of honey in 1-1.5 cups of boiling water and drink. Repeat once daily after a heart attack.

2. The best cure after a heart attack is to get oxygen to body cells so they can repair the damage. Mix 1 teaspoon dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) with 1 full glass of water and drink. Repeat every couple of hours.

3. Take magnesium daily to rebuild the heart. When magnesium is depleted, it makes muscles twitch – and can do the same to the heart.

4. Take aged garlic extract capsules daily.

5. Hawthorn, used regularly, strengthens the heart muscle. Studies show that hawthorn speeds recovery after heart attack. It strengthens the heart and forestalls any onset of coronary disease. No other herb provides the nourishing regeneration of hawthorn after heart attack.

Heart Attacks and drinking Warm Water

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about heart attacks . The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water; maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine . Very soon, this w ill turn into fats and lead to cancer . It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense
pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first
chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can WAKE you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

Astragulus (Huang Qi, Radix Astragali)
Considered to be an adaptogenic (proposed to increase the body's resistance to stress, trauma, anxiety and fatigue) herb, astragulus has long been trusted as an immune-regulating ingredient. In one study, the herb Astragalus membranaceus was shown to decrease free radical release in heart muscle cells, in vitro. (1-3)

Rehmannia (Shi Di Huang, Radix Rehmanniae Glurinosae)
Rehmannia glutinosa, a widely used Chinese herb in traditional Chinese medicine, belongs to the family of Scrophulariaceae. In recent decades, a great number of chemical and pharmacological studies have been done on Rehmannia glutinosa. More than 70 compounds including iridoids, saccharides, amino acid, inorganic ions, as well as other trace elements have been found in the herb. Studies show that Rehmannia glutinosa and its active principles possess wide pharmacological actions on the blood system, immune system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system and the nervous system. (4) Study results suggest that orally administered Rehmannia glutinosa extract may support peripheral microcirculation (circulation in the very small blood vessels) via regulation of hemorheology (flow properties of the blood. (5)

Ophiopogon (Mai Den Dong, Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici)
The tuber of Ophiopogonis Japonici, or the dwarf lilyturf root tuber, has been used for many years in traditional Chinese medicine as natural support for healthy blood sugar levels already within the normal range. But recent studies show that components in the dwarf lilyturf root tuber may have potent cardio-supportive effects. (6,7)

Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis)
Schisandra berry or Wu-Wei-Zi, meaning the the fruit of five tastes in Chinese, is a commonly used herb in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). One study published in the American Journal of Chinese Medicine found that Schisandra berry may fortify mitochondrial antioxidant status, thereby offering the body a generalized protection. Schisandra fruit, along with Panax ginseng and Ophiopogon japonicus were shown to modulate hepatic (liver) lipids and lipid peroxidation in rats. (8) In another study, the anti-inflammatory properties of the active ingredient in schisandra, schisandrin, were shown to result from the inhibition of nitric oxide (NO) production, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) release, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression. (9)

Cinnamon (Gui Zhi, Ramulus Cinnamomi Cassiae)
Cinnamon enjoys a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine. A study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition found that incorporating cinnamon compounds in the diet could help maintain blood sugar levels and support cardiovascular health.(10) Cinnamon may also play an important role in maintaining healthy blood pressure already within the normal range. Clinical Experience with CardioPhase

"As a holistic family physician specializing in integrative CAM (Complementary Alternative Medicine), I am always pleased to discover an effective formula that integrates the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the best of modern nutritional science and quality control manufacturing. CardioPhase is just such a formula.

After reviewing the research on CardioPhase I carefully began to introduce use of the formula in my clinical practice, where I've found the formula to be remarkably effective for the support of cardiovascular health.

The preponderance of available scientific and clinical evidence suggests that daily use of CardioPhase can be an excellent approach to those hoping to support a healthy heart and circulatory system"
